Wonderful insight. Most people use humour to reduce the pain of complexity of a situation , in this case, esoteric tech stuff. Thank you for this. Will try it out.

on: Leading someone with more years of experience than my age
Management is a function of maturity. There are kids who have just graduated from B school and with just a year or two of work experience, who are great managers. We have to remember that they have been living on the planet for 20-24 years and their experiences in life , families , sports teams etc. Define their level of EQ and maturity. So it’s not just those years of work experience that lead to great young managers - it’s life experience as well.

on: Talk Less, Listen More
Works everywhere all the time. It is common sense but people are so nervous and insecure especially in sales that they believe talking would somehow build credibility. To be more effective they have to listen with a clear intent on addressing what is going on in the speakers mind / life so they can provide an apt solution.

Tampering with the environment is going to affect the entire planet. Air and ocean currents get affected. This kind of tampering will be harmful to China as well. I hope they understand that they are part of the planet as well. What goes around comes around.

on: 10 years ago today, Groupon turned down Google’s $6B offer
It’s an often quoted story , but having built a couple of companies, I believe a founder takes a decision based on the information available at that instant. It’s always a 50/50 deal, sometimes you get it right, sometimes you learn.
