I built Tagmask. Actually, I don't like what is written on Killerstartups.
The main feature of Tagmask is tag-based approach to filtering posts, some people find it useful.
But I never told that Tagmask is a revolutionary community for programmers.
And I am very upset and frustrated about Killerstartups article.

An effect is worth it. For now, ~52% of users on Tagmask are registered through third-party accounts (most of them use Google account).

Pretty neat site. I think it should allow user to login using Google/Twitter/Facebook account. It would increase registrations.

Tagmask provides more flexible filtering and allows users to submit different types of posts (Link, Note, Code snippet etc)

I built a site for programmers, which uses tags to provide to each user with only relevant information. It's a place to share and discuss technical stuff, which uses tags to connect programmers with the same interests. Hope it will be interesting to you.

Tagmask provides more flexible filtering.
1. You can block posts with particular tags. For example, you can see post with the tag "javascript", except posts with the tag "asp.net".
2. You can block posts by a particular user in case if his posts is not interesting to you.
3. Tagmask provides filtering by your personal points for a user, it's sum of your "Likes" minus "Dislikes" for a user. When it becomes less than threshold you specified, you will not see posts from this user anymore.
In other words, Tagmask main purpose is to provide only relevant posts to every user.
Another key feature is that it's fully focused on programming, so we can add to it any special features, which make sense only for programmers. For example, it supports the post type "Code snippet" http://tagmask.com/posts/add/code_snippet Feel free to submit.
