I'm building an IOS app that uses your food photos to create a social food diary, which when aggregated with posts from your friends, also creates this communal food brain of legit food. I call it friend-sourcing instead of crowd-sourcing.
An example use case is going to Tokyo and trying a bunch of ramen places. You take photos and upload the ones you like onto a geotagged list (called Tokyo Trip).
Your friends are going to Tokyo soon and ask you for ramen recommendations. Instead of creating a google map with pins or a long email lists with no pictures or geo-capabilities, you show/send them the list with the app and it will show them all your ramen photos on a map.
We want to help answer "What is the closest legit food my friends have tried around me?" wherever you are.
We are looking for beta test users and will be launching this year. You just have to love food and like telling your friends where they should go eat (like me). Feel free to reach out at [email protected]
Here is the beta test link if anyone is interested: https://testflight.apple.com/join/3Ho5creV

Legitlist is a friend-sourcing photo app for food and travel recommendations. Think Yelp with an Instagram interface, but with geo-functionalities (sort feed by real time distance) and food emoji filters, and with only your friends or people who's taste you trust (instead of anonymous elite reviewers).
We believe that your friends are your most credible source of experiences and we use all your food photos on your phone to create a collective food brain repo with your friends.
We are always trying to answer "What's the closest legit thing to me that my friends have done?" any where in the world.
Imagine a map of every Anthony Bourdain restaurant from his shows on your phone. Or every legit ramen restaurant your friend raved about from his last Tokyo trip.
We've built an IOS MVP and are currently private beta testing. But need an android dev or preferably a Flutter dev. Launching Fall this year.
Please feel free to reach out - [email protected]
or ask for a beta link :)

Another is to reach out to old friends from college, or try to search for alumni. Alumni from the college you dropped out of are likely more sympathetic than the others.
FD: Just got a tech job at an insurance company. So speaking from exp.
Legit helps you find, curate and share your favorite food/restaurant recommendations with friends using your mobile food photos.
Have a map of all the ramen your friends have tried and vouch for (pinned with photos, ratings and captions) when you visit Tokyo.
See all the restaurants your friends' have tried nearby, wherever you are, with a feed of all your friends' food photos, sortable by distance with a tap.
Imagine having a map of all the restaurants Anthony Bourdain has tried around the world.
We believe that when it comes to looking for good food, Friend-sourcing > Crowd-sourcing, because your friends share a similar taste in food with you.
People are already taking too many photos of their food, but those photos usually just sit in your photo album doing nothing. We want you to harness the data (and meta-data) from your food photos, to journal and curate all your favorite culinary experiences, so that you can share them with the people you love.
I'm the IOS dev building this out with some non-technical friends. We are currently in private beta with friends and family. We are potentially looking for someone to help with the Android/Web version, ideally someone who wants to work with Flutter.
We will be launching through several Foodie Facebook groups soon and plan to eventually work with food/travel content producers. We think that foodies and food/travel content producers are currently underserved by Instagram and YouTube.
Please reach out if anyone is interested in downloading the beta app or learning more about Legit. We are super excited to build the new Twitch for Foodies.
