Brilliant and a timely piece stating how things really are. After paying $1000 iPads & iPhone plus Apple pooh poohing privacy it still slurps away serious amount of user clickstream without permission. Sure it is less than Google but it is serious enough.

In iOS Books all your interaction and content meta data gets sent to Apple and there is no way to turn it off. They just say “we do it while safeguarding user privacy and to create better user experience”.
Now that is surely Normalising Surveillance not to mention 24x7 connection between iDevices & Apple servers.
