Back in the early '00s there was such a device - the Zector ZVG. It was driven via parallel port and used a custom version of MAME.
I'm sure somebody in the VAC scene started work on a replacement after these ended production.
I had an ZVG and it was pretty good. But now I just play my Star Wars cockpit.

Claybook[0] uses SDF throughout. I don't think any of the game is conventional poly-based geometry.
Having built with both SDF and conventional geometry, it's much easier to find excellent 3D modellers than it is to find people who can build with SDF though.

A lot of them have been brought back to life. As mentioned by the other poster capacitors weren't such an issue, and the ship had been reasonably weatherproof for a good while.
This video was recorded around the time the stash was first identified and you can see the cosmetic state of a lot of the machines isn't bad!

A lot of them went to members of a UK video arcade collecting forum http://ukvac.com
They were in a variety of conditions, some ended up being rescued for parts whereas others were up and running not long after.
Have a look on the forum: it'll be in the Operator Raids section and I don't recall whether you need to have registered to get access to that part.
