I am fortunate in that regard. My doctor maintains the inventory needed for his patients purely because it’s almost impossible to get the good stimulants in local pharmacies

I am from India and got diagnosed in my mid 30s. If you live in a tier-1 city it’s not that hard to get diagnosed. Go to a psychiatrist. Reddit has a lot of good recommendations based on your city

Have possibly tried every single app out there. iPhone reminders for basic personal stuff. Doesn’t scale for work related stuff. At work I operate better when there is a free flowing hierarchical view on my laptop - Workflowy is what I keep coming back to

Came all the way down to see if someone has a comment like this. I have tried all possible frameworks but finding the energy to execute them is the hardest part. Has gotten slightly better after I started meds but a lot depends on how my energy and emotions are at that moment

most times I dont use search to actually do "research". I just put a company's or location's name because I dont remember their website and open the top non-ad result. ChatGPT's way of publishing the result might be friction in this case

This is quite cool and I like it. Lots of people will point out that this falls short of some key critical features. But if it works for it will surely work for a 100 more people like you

quantamiser | 5 years ago | on: Engineering Leadership Interview Handbook

OP here. A few months ago I changed jobs. The last time I gave an interview was as an entry level engineer 7 years ago. Since then I had become a manager and hired many engineers but I had no clue what questions will be asked when I interview for EM+ positions. I interviewed with a dozen different startups of different kinds. EM positions are vague and vary from company to company. With each interview I got better and I realized it would have been much easier if I knew what to expect in these interviews. I have collated the questions I was asked and this can evolve to a repo of all kinds of software engineering leadership interview questions.

Please share feedback, open issues, participate in discussions and I will try best to improve this

quantamiser | 5 years ago | on: Ask HN: How to grow as an engineering leader with mid-level hands-on experience?

I can totally relate to your story. After reading your experience I am pretty sure there are many more like us. I played a key role in the growth of the company and was called a founding member on many occasions, but without a formal "co-founder" or CXO tag, it gets difficult to get an executive role in slightly larger companies. I guess starting a company is the most obvious option (assuming there are no other constraints)

quantamiser | 5 years ago | on: Ask HN: How to grow as an engineering leader with mid-level hands-on experience?

The answer to "what do you want to do?" - Long-term I want to start a company. Financial constraints and the current situation are not well suited to make decisions in that direction. Short term I want to continue to grow in management roles and acquire the skills needed to get closer to my long term plan. The approach you mentioned definitely helps. Thank you so much
