As an European which spend 4 years in Sydney recently I was always surprised at the opposite. Every after going out at midnight, Hurds of people would be waiting for a red light with no car/traffic in sight for a mile. I always jaywalk, feel particularly upset that a computer is telling me to wait for a save time, without context, while I can obviously tell it's save.

Recently discussed this behaviour in Sydney, remember it was particularly bad around Surry hills

Still looking for a nice setup with JS. Tried some notebook promises with danfoJS but couldn't find something ergonomic

Same for me, I don't see that high responsibility amoung a lot of my colleagues. I am about to get promoted, and I am durning down the offer since I am currently doing all those wildcard jobs, even outside working hours, because I enjoy them.

But when you expect me to do them, it is different and you need to compensate!

I have struggled with this myself for a long time. I feel gratefull for having stumbled upon this article.

What i just want to share here is this quote which I heard a couple of years ago and will never forget.

Did you know the saying "Jack of all trades, master of none"? Apparently this quote is only half of the full quote, which is.

"A Jack of all trades is a master of none, but better then a master of one"

-- I also think that a lot of people have a misconception about this kind of person. It is not someone with a big skillset but likely someone with ADHD, this trait, for me comes with HUGE downsides, as in, my biggest wish is to start a startup, but this trait is preventing me to finish almost anything. I have a huge backlog of unfinished side projects, i work on them day/night until I know i got it (meaning i have figured it out, it works, it is possible), and then I lose my interest and start exploring new ideas and testing if these are feasible.

I am currently trailing ADHD pills to litterly NOT be this person. And it feels amazing to look forward in planning, be prepared and structured.

I identify myself with the wildcard person. I would adjust my resume to lean more towards the hiring position. After hirin they get to know the swiss army knife.

Maybe it is international but no European interpret dates like that and it is really confusing. This also doesn't happen in the SF platform, there they convert dates like it should.

Nodered is really awesome. I work in the Salesforce ecosystem where flow based programming is being pushed and adopted and always wish they would have adopted the nodered way of doing things.

Salesforce reputation? Have you worked with their ecosystem? Their pardot marketing platform van only use date fields in YYYYMMDD, no way to convert this to a European format. And i can drum up like a 100 of these insane things we have to work with on a daily basis. I work in the Salesforce ecosystem, and love my job but funny enough I fucking hate Salesforce in so many ways.

Salesforce is having a hiring stop and doing all sorts of weird stuff such as targeting smb with 'easy salesforce' self service.

This feels like a company that is trying to lift numbers somehow short term.

Same here, in Istanbul we almost got in a huge fight because they tried charging us like couple hunderd dollars for a simple haircut. Also cab drivers fucked us over every single time.
