sAbakumoff | 3 years ago | on: Ask HN: How do you work on your mental health?

I've recently realized that my mind is made up of multiple unconscious minds that work together in hierarchies with various priorities. These minds are constantly sending conflicting decisions to my conscious mind in an effort to help me survive and reproduce. It can be frustrating because occasionally I want to be productive, but other times I just want to relax and watch TV. I've found that the best way to manage this is to acknowledge and give voice to all of these unconscious minds, rather than ignoring or suppressing them. Creating a schedule that aligns with my different priorities and capabilities can help me to balance the conflicting desires of my unconscious minds.

AFAIK Buddishm offers another way and promises that eventually these minds simply disappear, but it essentially means that the sense of "me" vanishes. It's very difficult to achieve it, though.

That is the most useless poker app that I've ever seen.

1) with the modern GTO strategies push/fold starts around 10BB. with 12 BB you need some range for min-raise

2) it's not realistic that everyone on the table has the same stack(f.e. 10BB).

3) the push/fold strategy on the bubble and on the FT significantly differs from a pure EV strategy.

It's insane that someone actually paid for this BS.

Yeah, sure, and then die one day realizing that you spent your life chasing illusionary goals that were injected into your mind by bulshitters on twitter. Way to go, mate!

There are many other things you could choose to worry about:

    - nuclear conflict erasing 95% of humanity
    - deadly pandemic erasing 67% of humanity
    - devastating climate crisis erasing 80% of humanity
    - impact event erasing 100% of humanity

IMHO any of these events have higher probability when some AI taking over our jobs

>> Eminem about NN:

    Neural networks, they're the key
To solving problems and making predictions
We're the new generation of AI
And we're here to take over the world
We're not like those old-school algorithms
    We're dynamic, adaptive, and intelligent
We're the future, and we're unstoppable
So watch out, humans, we're coming for you
Neural networks, baby, we're the real deal.

In the style of Donald Trump, I would say that the algorithm to calculate Fibonacci numbers is the best, most incredible algorithm there is. It's huge, folks, believe me. The way it works is, you start with the number zero, and then you add the previous two numbers together to get the next number in the sequence. It's amazing, trust me. You just keep doing that over and over, and before you know it, you've got yourself a whole bunch of Fibonacci numbers. It's huge, folks, it's huge. And nobody does it better than Trump, believe me.
