How about the bravado of the startup "code ninja rockstars" fresh out of school - simply a brave face in a macho subculture, or is it the Dunning Kruger effect at play, because they haven't had the chance to work alongside experienced colleagues that make them realize they have more to learn?

It is pretty sweet on mobile. On the desktop it offends my sensibilities as much as, say, using HTTP GET to affect state.

It was useful when you were expecting a data call and you hear your aunt on the other end saying HELLO? WHAT IS THIS BEEPING? HELLO?

Starting with Windows 95, Windows had an objective advantage over Macintosh. The operating system supported preemptive multitasking, the hardware was considerably more powerful, and the software base was huge.

With iOS vs. Android, from the consumer's perspective, the differences are really subtle. The major issue at hand with developer freedom is hidden from view for most people.

"I think most people should be much more questionable about groklaw. I am big open source and FSF advocate, but I'm not above thinking that groklaw is controlled/funded by a much larger power."

I've heard this before, and it is usually the shills that spout that line.

Does the Excel web app support VBA? I was under the impression that the 365 apps offer a subset of the functionality of their desktop counterparts.

What part did you use the scripting engine for? I was able to do something very similar, but purely with spreadsheet rules.

I see it as risk avoidance. The learning curve with the basic WMs is steep but a one-time cost. With richer WMs, You pay a tax with your time and productivity every time the UI designers f* with your s*. It seems like UI designers these days are about making BOLD MOVES without apologies.

Heh, I always use Google instead of most site's internal search engines. Have you ever tried using MSDN search before? Even with the advanced filter options, the results are awful, awful, awful compared to what Google pulls up.

"Does this mean that Google has given up completely on net neutrality? This is a very bad notion."

Wow, break out the tinfoil hats.
