on: Multiplayer Word Game in the Browser
The Puzzmo team and I took Circuits, a daily single-player word game about combining two words into compound phrases, and turned it into a chaotic massively multiplayer "royale" competition. Built with React & websockets with a bit of SVG & canvas for flair. Give it a try!

on: Bohemians at the Gate?
I don't think existing copywright law matters with respect to AI. AI generated art is unprecedented and I'd argue there is a moral imperative to distribute the wealth generated by AI to those whose creative work enabled the technology even if we don't have a legal (or technical) framework for doing this in place yet.

on: One game, by one man, on six platforms: The good, the bad and the ugly
Surprised to see "Code signing with a hardened runtime is almost a must." under Steam (Mac OS). I released a game on steam and never had my distributables signed and never had a single complaint. Every player launches Steam games through Steam, and when that happens there's no need for signing.

on: Jabra denies support for Elite 85t Bluetooth earbuds on computers
My Jabra Elite 85h over-ear headphones suffer from the same issue. These are Wirecutter's suggested Bluetooth headphones, which is why I bought them. I wonder if they still would be if it was widely known that these headphones are not meant to be used with computers.

on: Does Anyone Here Speak Art and Tech?
deviantART has a reputation for being the most lowbrow of the popular art sharing sites on the Internet. It's all comics, bad photography, and fanart. No serious artist would put their work up there. Flickr is slightly more respected. Tumblr has the most respect among "real artists". Good coverage on the intersection between art and tech happens at

on: A clean point-of-interest icon set for web cartography
As the main designer behind Maki, I'd love for it to be comprehensive enough to replace the standard OSM set someday. If not on the main OSM map, at least in the editors. I have a long way to go!
