An iranian expat here. I have been following the news closely, mostly getting my data from my friends in Iran before the internet shutdown and after it was (sort of) lifted.

The death toll is way above this number, you have to consider the fact that Iran is a big country with many small cities, and in my city alone (which is very small and rarely has any protest going on) many people have died (i don’t have the exact numbers but it could be anywhere between 100 to 200) and when you put this into perspective you will understand that in scale of the entire country a lot of people have died.

I have heard that not only they killed people on the street but they have chased those who fled and killded them at their places or hidings, let alone the killing of the injured ones in hospitals.

It’s is a big tragedy and people are reluctant to talk about it because those who are committing this massacre are MUSLIMS and support PALESTINE so this is a moral dilemma for the left lovers! because they see Mullah’s regime as one of their biggest allies when it comes to attack West/Israel/Free market

It’s a shame that all those activist that would shred themselves for Palestine are absolutely quite about Iran

“quake” version uses “lea" to pre-increment pointers before storing values. “normal” version uses “add" after storing values.

The “lea" instruction is often faster because it performs an addition in a single cycle without modifying flags, whereas “add" may introduce a dependency.

“quake” version might have a slight edge due to better pipeline efficiency.

i really like firefox to shine. but it’s very ugly and turns me off every time i use it. it's been around forever but the UI has never looked good, I’d argue that in recent years it’s gotten even uglier.

recently i’ve been using duck duck go browser on macos, it’s literally my main browser for the past 6 months and I’m very happy with it’s simple and beautiful UI.

i mentioned duck duck go browser because of multiple reason, first of all, there are many of us who are willing to ditch chrome, and a lot of us can live without all the goodies that come with chrome, a lot of us can live with a browser that is a bit slower than chrome, but i’m sure there are also a lot of us who cannot force themselves to deal with an ugly browser.

I am huge sublime text fan, and have updated my license, one thing that I would like to see is an official and better vim emulation extension, I know there is vintage package but it is far from being useful, and then there are other vim emulation packages that are not making proper use of sublime powers, so I would like to see a better and newer vintage package

That's so lame, basically it has nothing to do with free software and open source, you can still use them if you wish. in fact it is the corporations who are blocking us not the software!!!.

Moreover we have to point our fingers toward Iranian corrupt regime because they are bringing misery to the the people. We have to be asking this question every day: why on earth countries like japan or korea never get sanctioned. I guess the answer is simple
