What? People trust science. If they don't they are morons. Of course sometimes things and long held truths are proven wrong or different from new discoveries but that does not at all hurt science, this is the process.

How is this AI? Snooze, Reply-to and mute emails? Wow, needs hella brain for that. If-Statements are not AI.
The title is misleading.

on: Intel platforms from 2008 onwards have a remotely exploitable security hole
Even without any newly discovered backdoor. The Intel ME was always a fuing security issue. A BACKDOOR. It is completely naive to think the NSA can't use the ME to get access to anything, but hey it needs another Snowden for people to listen again.

Guys, cancer. It's still out there. Donate for research instead of wasting 400 Bucks on a fu*king juice press. No one can justify this useless piece of crap.

on: AI can predict heart attacks more accurately than doctors
Machine Learning is just a tool belt. AI is the idea of intelligent machines being able to solve problems (and recognizing them) on their own. Therefore of course AI can utilize the tool belt that is Machine Learning.

They don't charge you for the domain itself but for some part of their service. What's so hard to get about this?

on: Instagram Stories hits 200M users, surpassing Snapchat
Outside their app snapchat as close to zero visibility. No share buttons on the web, no snap ghosts in commercials (like "add us on facebook"), nothing. They really have to come up with something there.
When Facebook had their IPO everyone argued about them having no revenue, but they still had user growth, when Snap started they already had no user growth. This combined with no revenue... Wall Street does not approve!

I'm really sorry for my comment. Turns out I didn't check Stripe for a while. Bitcoin is now completely supported yes, and I see support for SEPA and other payment options incoming. Great guys!

Would really prefer Stripe to release more payment options like Bitcoin or Paypal, or adding more countries and their more local payment options.

on: Unreasonable Ineffectiveness of Machine Learning in Computer Systems Research
> but we are still decades (or more) away from full level-5 autonomy
Decades? Are you really sure? This assumption seems quite uninformed to me. The Grand Challenge was 12 years ago, from then we evolved from Level 1 to Level 3. Back then there was no data, computing power wasn't available as today, chips (&sensors) can be designed an built within a few months or even less these days for far less money. Machine Learning and Computer Vision made many advances in these 12 years (talent in these fields is now easier to acquire as more people can learn about it these days). We are at a completely different point these days. Level 5 is not the matter of decades, 5 years, 10 max. But not decades.

This is how journalism should work. Not like the Washpo, acting as Jeff Bezos Anti-Trump propaganda machine. Don't get me wrong here, this is not a Trump fan writing, but I can't stand the biased bs media publishes these days.

Well they can release something good after all. Look at the main Web UI. I don't know what they are thinking at Twitter. Its the most unintuitive UX I've ever seen.
E.g. :

Click on the frame around the image -> See the comments and Image is larger.
