on: Sheldon Brown's Bicycle Technical Info
i worked as a bicycle mechanic when I got completely tired of it-world. This website saved my ass numerous times while fixing bicycles. Absolutely legendary webdesign also that just works well.

on: Poor Johnny still won't encrypt
I consider e-mails to be digital versions of postcards. Both are obsolete but have some usage scenarios. There is no need to use private communication in obsolete postcard type messaging, so there is no need for encryption. For private communications there are other better(easier) means which people use.

I have ryzen 2400G. no Windows 11 for that cpu. 2018 is too old I guess. Anyway Linux of course works and steam nowadays works so well with windows games I really have no reason for windows 11 anyway.

yes, very nice indeed, but it is 2024. Why I cannot install linux to my phone as easily as i can to my lenovo laptop? I am just so tired to android and ios. They are stagnated and do not offer anything special to me.

on: Solving the 100GB Game Download
I kinda did this when i got my steam deck. I mounted my nas to steam deck, added it as a steam storage and moved my games there. It works rather well. No storage required on steam deck. It is slower than playing from SD, but not that bad on smaller games.

on: Ask HN: How are you using GPT to be productive?
I have outsourced all bs e-mails to chatgpt. It used to take 15-20 minutes to write "corporate emails" but now i just write them to chatgpt in real life language and it converts them. Works well. Bosses are happy, so am I.

on: Ask HN: Anyone try semaglutide / Wegovy for weight loss?
I started using semaglutide 5 months ago. Combined with proper nutrition and working out (mainly walking 3x week), I have managed to lose 20kg in 5 months. I absolutely recommend it for people who have trouble losing weight.
