I especially like Firebase tutorials and docs. After finishing tutorial on Firebase first launch I immediately knew where and how can I use Firebase in the future. When the time came we used it for real-time worker/web-app communication at
http://dubjoy.com/ and it worked like a charm. I still don't know how to use web sockets and I hope I never will :) While working with Firebase we needed some ACL-like security features and Firebase delivered again. Amazing.

True. These translations are reviewed but were not dubbed by a voice talent. Since we're using our web technology for recording, the sound quality will never be a studio production quality, but neither will the price :)

I think we need to. It deserves a credit, because we use it and we didn't pay for it. CoffeeScript makes our lives easier, almost eliminates bad practices and removes brace clutter from the screen, making the code more readable, understandable, better.
When having to choose between a library written in JavaScript and a library written in CoffeeScript I choose the latter, because it statistically has a probability to be a better library, just because the coder didn't have a chance to use bad JavaScript practices, when writing it. Assuming I usually don't have time to read the code of the libraries I'm using.

Our video bucket is a few TB in size right now, file-sizes ranging from 10MB to 1GB. Not one file/upload broken until now. So I guess they fixed it.

We didn't say anything about technology stack: we host on Heroku using Sinatra and Ruby, Backbone.js, HAML,CoffeScript is used for frontend, the awesome Firebase for real-time communication with backend workers, which run on AWS/written in Python using Sox.

It's been a rough ride for us regarding browser compatibility. In the beginning we wanted to support them all, but then quickly boiled it down to just Chrome. It's a really good browser for prototyping. At first we wanted to use native controls for audio recording, but quickly realized that it won't go, because it's still very beta. We decided to use Flash for voice recording, but a week ago Google surprised us with a broken release. We're sure they'll fix it soon. In the future we'll be more careful and will consider Firefox and others also.

We're thinking subtitling might help with dubbing efforts but we won't go in subtitles direction for now. Amara has this field covered really good.
Long term goal is to become a YouTube for non English speaking users :)

Awesome product. I tried to play a little, but the things are moving way too fast even on half the speed (on AutoScroll). I suggest that besides tab numbers that are moving fast, you also make the last one sticky on the edge. PageScroll is OK. I hope you make 5 string version for Banjo soon :) Good luck.

B1 (business) visa is easiest to get and it allows you to do fundraising, which is what you officially do during YC process. It allows you to apply for 6 month visit on the first entry to the US and then multiple re-entries until you'll get funding and find possibilities/time for a more useful visa, like J, E, O or H1B.
