If everyone talks only based on facts on TV, the world will be a better place, but they're also won't be that many different news channels.

You see... This shows care about the rating, and keep us informed. In times like this, when people are watching the news 24/7 they must find people who can talk and give their opinion. In many cases, the information appear to be wrong.

>Being desperate we decided to seek support from the Internet and posted our findings to the dm-crypt mailing list

When I see a company such as CloudFlare being so transparent about their difficulties, and trying to find an answer using their community members, it makes me love them even more.

No ego, pure Professionalism

Besides security issues, scooter services have another big issue. They don't care about their customers.

I drove few times on a bird, and enjoyed the experience. Few months ago (right before the winter) they've changed the wheels to plastic wheels since many birds had a flat tire which cost the company a lot I believe.

The plastic wheel is likely to slide when you try to brake when the ground is wet.

Doing a move like this right before the winter starts showed me how money oriented bird is

>Replace the mask with a new one as soon as it is damp and do not re-use single-use masks.

I can't find a place to buy a mask in my city, so all those rules work only in an ideal situation.

In reality, people are buying and selling musky online for profit, which in my opinion should be illegal.

thereyougo | 6 years ago | on: Ask HN: Why is code documentation such a painful process?

I actually read a great answer on Stack Exchange about it recently:

>In my opinion, any system that is used productively and is supposed to be maintained by people, should have documentation at reach of those people who are responsible for its support. The reason is, simply because:

Not all developers have the same IQ - You want every one to get it not only smart John.

Not all code is obvious, complex algorithms are not quite readable by all.

Business rules, while may be readable, may not alone show why they are there. Take for example this line in a reporting application:

if (lastname>="ZZ") then goto loop it is somewhat clear to the reader what is happening but not why this is the case?

Finding out details take long time, it is a waste of business money.

Dependency between pieces of the system may not always be obvious. Especially in batch processes where each job looks like an independent program but the execution sequence is a package that must be processed according to certain rules (like monthly runs, etc.).

Documentation should help you understand logs and whether the results are correct or not.

When you understand the function of each component you can answer business questions. Say Suzan calls from accounting and asks why are we missing 5 checks this month? Some programmers may respond, well, I ran the job and gave me no error - This can't help Suzan. If you know which part of the system does the data extraction for processing the checks and then know what are business rules applied to qualify a check to be printed you can provide an useful answer - Assuming there were no bugs.

Remember that documentation go way beyond the comments that are inserted in code. They include ERD, Business Requirements documents, Design documents, etc.

In short: good documentation gives the developers the necessary control to maintain a system.

I appreciate the way they keep everyone informed in the downtime. It tells a lot about the company

thereyougo | 6 years ago | on: These Lyrics Do Not Exist

I tried something challenging and the results are pretty good.

Song Type: Love

Genre: Metal

Lyric Mood: Very Sad

Verse 1

No one lead you astray

If there is no love all I can pray for is sin

There is no one to love me

There is no one to adore me

Pre-Chorus

They called themselves love

They all wanted to be

Chorus

I hate you, I love you too

Want this too, and you want it too

No chance for love

Just war in the streets

Verse 2

This is sad but truth

My lips they would love to kiss

I have seen men with no heart

I have seen young kids with no love

Pre-Chorus

So then we can rebuild the love

So we can reach you

Chorus

I hate you, I love you too

Want this too, and you want it too

No chance for love

Just war in the streets

Bridge

A life without your arms would be so empty

A life without your love would be so incomplete

Chorus

I hate you, I love you too

Want this too, and you want it too

No chance for love

Just war in the streets
