Alternatively, the full domain could be displayed instead of just the root domain, so (itunes.apple.com) would be displayed instead of (apple.com). This appears to be the case for some domains, like Tumblr and Blogspot, but not others.

Matt Thompson (https://github.com/mattt), also from Heroku created Induction (http://inductionapp.com/) to handle this sort of database administration around a year ago, but it seems like he's become pretty busy with other projects at the moment. I hope that he's able to pick up progress on it again as it really had a lot of promise behind it.

Is there an official source or announcement for this? I've noticed that recent release notes and changelogs have become much less substantial, but I've yet to see anything indicating that it's approaching EOL.
