Bitcoin and Ethereum are not anonymous, every transaction amount, source address, and destination address can be seen by anyone.

Dash provides some anonymity features, but are generally opt-in (i.e there are certain transaction types which provide more anonymity, but they are not required). Even with "anonymous" transactions on Dash, I believe only the sender/receiver can be somewhat masked, but the amounts are not masked entirely.

Monero provides pretty anonymous transactions which have gotten better with it's recent introduction of Ring Confidential Transactions, which makes it so that new transactions have (by default, and to be enforced later this year for all Transactions) hidden amounts, sender, and receiver.

ZCash is arguably the most anynomous, as it has hidden amounts, sender, and receiver from the ground up, but comes with a bit more risk since it is essentially based on entirely new, and as yet unproven, crypto (zkSnarks). It is an exciting promise for the future, but it also required a "trusted" setup of a random seed which, if compromised by any party, could enable infinite, undetectable inflation of the ZCash currency.

In short, there is no perfect anonymity, everything is a scale and a spectrum of security, and what type of guarantees you can get around the anonymity properties you want.

I think saying a sysadmin 'cannot work on developing the product itself', is silly. I think it's a given that anyone joining at such an early stage of a company is going to be developing the product. You will definitely need a sysadmin that can develop the product and move fast. Your architecture is part of the product, and the sysadmin should help with the design and implementation of the architecture, as well as possibly parts of the codebase going onto that architecture.

Democracy isn't really about freedom at all. When the majority can overrule and extinguish the rights and freedoms of the minority, that is not freedom. It's more about mob-determination than self-determination.

This is just funny and ironic on so many levels. What exactly does it mean for Democracy to 'Flourish'? Does that mean that the 51% get to do whatever they want, and the 49% have to go along with it? The whole premise of the article seems to assume by default that Democracy is, somehow, a good form of government, and that if only people weren't so dumb, everyone would be happy under this tyrannical form of government.

Democracy is, by definition, a system wherein the minority suffers at the whims of the majority -- mob rule, if you will. Most people seem to think the United States is a democracy, but it is actually (supposed to be) a Republic. Our elected officials are not (supposed to be) able to do whatever the majority wants at the expense of the minority, but rather their actions are strictly limited and restricted by the constitution so as to prevent the majority from violating the rights of the minority -- which is virtually always what results from a true democracy.
