With regard to the inviting: an attempt to this end is made in enabling users to tweet their conversations. This would allow their followers to eavesdrop on their particular conversation in realtime. Why would you want a lot of eavesdroppers? Hmm, good question ;)
So something else for people to invite others..

Still, the problem remains the fact that it's difficult to get an initial userbase that makes sure there's always something interesting to read about on there :)

Anyway, suggestions on how to generate some buzz around this concept?

We'll see whether this will hinder growth in any way. I hope not ofcourse :)

We really wondered whether this would be a good idea, because I'm guessing it's practically impossible to pronounce 'tjetter' in English (is it not?).

I myself have been wondering how to generate some buzz around my own fun side-project: http://www.tjetter.com - a site that allows you to chat with random strangers, as well as read (and replay) all conversations that take place at that very moment... Not sure whether applying your tactics should be the way to proceed. Suggestions?
The problem is in the kickstarting: no people chatting, means no eavesdropping and barely anything of interest there when you visit.
