on: Ask HN: How do I improve boring README page?
I remember being really drawn in when README was showing the effect of software on animation embedded within the first two pages of github's readme section.

Factorio is awesome. It's kind of funny-ironic that a counter-example to "making games as addictive as possible" is an indie game addictive enough to be called "cracktorio" by its fans.

This so much. Greetings from Poland. Russia's cries about promises and "zones of influence" are basically cries about being unable to send tanks on a whim to a country which doesn't want to be a Russian colony.

You don't live in a country bordering Russia, do you? Historically Russia has been behaving aggressively and recklessly since at least 18th century, without much stop. Russia's western neighbors flock to NATO for a reason. Basically Russia is the bully of the neighborhood, using violence whenever it doesn't get whatever it wants.

They'll probably learn it themselves after a first wave of chargebacks.

Offering a refund after asking? Awww, how cute. But since a customer needs to explicitly ask for returning money that she hasn't authorized taking, why not just start a chargeback process at the credit card issuer?
Seriously, automatic refund should be their first and default action AND THEN offering some kind of compensation for the inconvenience.

on: Ask HN: I have a startup but no marketing budget, how to promote?
These musicians aren't very well known, having 100-1000 fans on facebook each. But yes, going viral through facebook is something we'll try improving in the upcoming weekend.

My problem with most services that promote music and have good reach is that they are connected with major labels.
What would be cool is some coverage from sites dealing with independent music and, dare I say, local scenes. Also, as a geek and programmer, I think I'd like to read about such service on a well-recognized tech/startup site.

There are also musical bundles, i.e. pay-what-you-want for bundle of albums from independent bands, like musicrage.org (full disclosure: I'm founder of musicrage.org)
