I've used React Native for a client and, whilst it was super clunky, I still enjoyed being able to write React to deploy to mobile. With React Native for Web, you can technical write code that writes to a bunch of different platforms, a big selling point for businesses.

I've had an AWS account manager suggest to me to use Auth0 rather than Cognito for some scenarios as well.

I am not a fan of Material UI (and especially the Material UI library for React). It looks kinda gross and it's really difficult to customise.

Also, you've made a very common mistake of setting `outline: none` to your focus states! Very bad for people who navigate using a keyboard.

Good job on launching, by the way.

Anti-vaccination isn't exclusively an American phenomenon. It just seems like it because most commenters would be Americans or foreigners who live in bubbles. I remember in high school in Australia about a decade ago, there was one kid who was said innoculations were akin to "injecting garbage into your bloodstream".

I also frequently give blood in Australia and there are also more and more warnings about measles and stuff (interestingly regarding neighbourhoods that tend to vote very progressive).

Anecdotal evidence, however!

I'm super loyal to the Microsoft Basic mouse. It lasts forever whereas all the Logitech M100's that I've purchased (and I've purchased a lot of them) don't last more than 6 months. Sad!

I use both Office for Mac and Windows all the time and Office for Mac is pretty reliable IMO. They pretty much have feature parity. Which features are you missing?

tphan | 7 years ago | on: Mozilla Fights for Net Neutrality This May (and Always)

I just want to raise a couple of points.

It's not necessarily always true that corporate donations are simply to bribe politicians into doing their bidding (which is what I took away when I read your commend). Companies will give money to politicians who are already aligned with their interests.

I watched a video once which tried to address the idea that Ted Cruz was being bribed by Comcast. Once of the arguments put forward was, sure, he may have received donations from some Comcast employees. However we shouldn't conflate that to mean Comcast was paying him money. Other politicians like Hillary and Bernie also would have received donations from Comcast employees.

Also, opponents of Net Neutrality actually do make some good points against the role of government in regulating the internet. Here's a debate where Nick Gillespie (a libertarian) and Michael Katz argue against Mitchell Baker and Tom Wheeler on whether NN is good. By the end of the debate, Nick and Michael are able to convince more people to consider opposing NN than to support:

As a native English speaker, sometimes I'll read a word but since I've never heard that word read out loud, when somebody finally says it, my mind explodes because it sounds different to how I pronounced it in my mind.
