I override this at a system level for some apps (e.g. Firefox, VS Code) by taking the following steps:

  1. Open System Prefs and go to Keyboard > Shortcuts
  2. Select "App Shortcuts", then press the + Button
  3. Choose "Firefox" (or other relevant app) from the dropdown
  4. Type *exactly* the name of the menu option that has the CMD + Q shortcut next to it, in this case "Quit Firefox"
  5. Focus on the Keyboard Shortuct input and choose whatever new key combination you want to be used for quitting the app. I usually use CTRL + CMD + SHIFT + Q
  6. Press the Add button

I can't comment on DigitalOcean, but I've been using Linode for a couple of years and have been happy.

They've offered several free hardware upgrades (CPU cores, transfer, storage) and one optional upgrade (Doubling RAM) that set me back an extra five cents a month.

I haven't had any issues, but from what I have seen Linode is very responsive.

I'm at a small (marketing) firm. When we have multiple devs, I'm the "Senior Developer." But whenever I'm the only dev, the "Senior" prefix gets stripped.

I think titles like "Ninja" or "Guru" are just as overrated as "Web 2.0" or "Cloud."

Front page looks great, but... "Hello. We haven't been formally introduced yet but I'm Sir Red Pen. I'm sorry to say I've let you down. This upload has failed. I'm deeply sorry. This usually doesn't happen. I swear. I will reload the page for you and I ask you try again. I will get it right this time."
