I think you’re making up why homeless advocates don’t want to literally ship the homeless out of the city. There are a lot of reasonable objections to that plan.

Consumption taxes on luxury goods usually aren’t very distorting at the local level, especially since its pretty easy to define luxury goods that aren’t locally made. The problem is that the max revenue that they can collect is much lower than income or common consumption taxes, which have a wider base with less ability to evade.

Leaning towards plant based is far too close to the “meat is bad, minimize it” camp for my taste. I think meat is not only good for humans, but strictly necessary for healthy development and functioning. In my assessment we aren’t eating enough high quality (important caveat) meat.

I’m not sure about power lines, but that’s certainly not true for roads. A large portion of road maintenance is paid for by state and federal budgets out of the general tax funds, with the amounts varying based on where we’re talking about. Local drivers pay for some of their road coast in the form of gas taxes, but in no state does this cover even half of the cost road maintenance.

I’m unconvinced by your unsupported assertion.

Given the utter collapse of western health since the 1970s, the recommendation of “pretty much every public health body” carries no weight for me.

I disagree with the idea that a plant based diet is healthier than one that includes meat.

Last time I’d read into it, statins didn’t move mortality numbers for most members of the population.
Edit: they do decrease your risk of a heart attack a bit, but the increased incidence of cancer and diabetes actually eliminates the benefit for most users. The only people who showed any measurable reduction in mortality were non-elderly patients with a history of cardiovascular disease.

For the life of me I really don’t understand why the regulators haven’t clamped down on statins. Sure, it lowers your cholesterol, but unless if you’re in a very specific population it doesn’t move your all cause mortality risk one iota. All while costing the patient money and causing some pretty nasty side effects too.

Squirrels are considered a strategic threat to the US infrastructure according to some governmental agencies. They're amazingly effective at knocking out power lines, albeit to the detriment of the squirrel who undertakes these apparent suicide missions.

Ethereum as infrastructure is also a dicey proposition. It works, slowly, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of demand for “dapps” outside ICO tokens, gambling, and the odd Ponzi scheme. The smart contract revolution at this point is complete vapor ware.

No, but it would be a very good idea. Facebook insiders repeatedly have stressed that Zuck isn't a very good CEO, and that he really is much more fit for a CPO type role. That he apparently refuses to listen only reinforces the validity of this feedback in my mind.
