Hi I just looked at your site. I found this very odd.

RESPECT YOUR CANDIDATES Strictly timeboxed tasks ensure candidates don't feel pressured to devote silly amounts of time to interview coding exercises.

The biggest issue I've found as an dev looking for work is that, employers often want a full functioning, production grade, api, with tests, and some integration tests. These requirements cause the issues, and timeboxing would surely compound them?

I guess there's a learning curve for the potential employer, but as an employee I wouldn't want to potentially be a guinea pig while they get their act together when understanding how long a task should actually take.

>Explain to me again why if you're British you're less likely to have a bias?

You won't fear being deported.

>Ah, so it's not that British citizens don't have a bias, it's that they have a bias in the direction that interests you. Very different.

Not so black and white.A lot of British want the EU, but not for economics, that's far too drab and requires genuine research and care.

We want easy access to foreign lands where we can get drunk, and bask in the sun.

On a side note, I don't really believe it will be useful leaving the EU. I would prefer reform and greater decentralisation. Even if it is failing, we can't promote positive reform from the outside.

The UK doesn't really value software. Costs of living are lower outside of London somewhat, but not in anywhere you can get a decent software job.

Shorter working hours doesn't really apply. Yes, we may be paid for 40 hours, but we still have tons to do. At the companies I've worked at not a single dev works less than 10 hours per day, not to mention the out of hours work that needs to be done.

Longer vacations - well on paper, but you don't always get to take them. Working on holiday isn't time off it's still work.

This is different at larger institutions, but larger institutions don't have a problem paying competitive salaries.
