on: Ask HN: Are front-end developers really "developers"?
I think my question comes from the fact that FED's need to engage less than backenders with strict compsci concepts, unless we're writing JS. I think I meant to ask whether HTML/CSS and all the variants and elaborations count as "programming".

on: Ask HN: Want to collaborate on a quick election themed website?
Cool! PM me at
[email protected], and I can explain what it's gonna be. We would need to get it done relatively soon, but I think it could be up and running by the end of the week.

on: So long, Retina
The burn-in/ghosting issue only affects the earliest batch of screens. I just took my retina into the Apple store, and they will decapitate it and add a new screen for free. Annoying, but it doesn't affect all whole line.

on: Ask HN: Best way to recover and deal with carpal tunnel?
interesting about the trackpad, my assumption was that the mouse was the best, but I've been using the trackpad recently and not using the actual click feature helps a bunch (click drags are a killer!) Thanks for the complete response.

on: Ask HN: Why is desktop text editing software still so bad?
Why? I would imagine that better and better autocorrect will make us want it more and more, not less and less. I'm just interested in why you would drop it.

Not complaining, just thought it was funny how they had to have the last word.

on: Bill Gates on his last visit with Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs was a big role model of mine, yet Bill Gates never came close. I'm starting to realize that is due to the dramatic nature of Job's life, which is very different from what we know about Bill Gates.
Yet, when things like this comes out, and stories about Jobs emerge, I start to question whether my choice of a role model was really all that well placed. Do you admire the guy with the entrancing personality, or the one that is about to cure polio?

on: Ninja Blocks: Connect your world with the web
With tech like this, that can sense and communicate events that happen in the physical world, I'd imagine that the globe will become sentient in 100 years. Just adding more and more nodes to the ever increasing network.
