I'm not a player but I attend services at the Sikh Gurdwara when I can and I will admit that I really am not a fan of the harmonium in comparison to other pre-colonial instruments. There are still groups such as Dhadis who don't use harmoniums however theym by design, create extremely intense listening experiences but I would love to hear more Kirtan in other contexts live.

Yeah I feel like this kind of thing is a bit of redundant, if you were going to be distracted by looking at HN on your laptop, you probably will do the same on your phone

>what basically amounts to a logo, he could very well just make his own website

Trumps fall in mainstream impact has proved this to not be the case. It used to be we would hear something crazy from him on a daily basis. If the ex president can't make his own website and maintain relevancy, I doubt musk can either

>My offer is my best and final offer and if it is not accepted, I would need to reconsider my position as a shareholder

This saga has been some of the craziest investment I've seen in my (admittedly short) life

> the later sometimes have little tap to pay machines

Its interesting how these have started to crop up more and more recently as cash has declined, for instance my local Gurdwara (Sikh temple) which traditionally takes donations in cash has a little card machine you tap on as you go in.

I wonder if when we get to a point where homeless people get them too, if people will trust them enough to do carded donations.

Another way I have thought about this, coming from a religion that believes in "Oneness" and in Reincarnation (Sikhism), does reincarnation have to necessarily happen linearly in time? If not then there is no reason that there would have to be an upper limit on the number of beings as you could have multiple of the same soul existing at different points in time, satisfying both oneness and reincarnation.

(Not that this is something I necessarily believe, it is just something I thought about).

How far back does this go? Since Ranjit Singh also took it by force, should it be returned to India who should then also return it to Afghanistan? What about that guy?

>meaningful change

not really, the vast majority of players care far more about having less cheaters than they do giving Riot/Activision etc higher levels of access. Personally I play on consoles for the most part to avoid having to install things like Riot Vanguard and whatever the new Call of Duty anti cheat is called.

I personally am happy about this feature, the main application for me will be to prevent the leaking of private information from smaller groups, obviously if someone was so determined they could easily get around it but for small groups of average users, removing the immediate option is good enough

If you look at the "participating organizations" section at the bottom of the page, freenode is not listed

I'm still not entirely sure on the point of IRCv3, it seems to me that the main draw of IRC in current times is the simplicity of the protocol, losing that by adding a whole bunch of new features, I don't see what niche IRC fills anymore.

> They're right, its just a PC now. Its crazy, I can't think of anyone who wants a console that has a rough computer equivalent of a Ryzen 7 3700X, 5700 RT with ray tracing, shares 16GB GDDR6 ram, a blu-ray drive, with a 1GB NVME drive for $500 (in stock and not scalped).

The way I view it is as paying a subscription for support, I bought a PS4 at launch and the fact it can play the newest Call of Duty at 60fps looking decent is absolutely worth the price. I'm not a PC gamer so I'm curious if a PC from 2013 that cost like $400 would hold up as well.

Now the PS5 is out I view it as time to pay the next sub of $500 to have a guaranteed level of performance for the next console cycle
