Ask HN: The nature of opposite responses in arguments

I have off late started to notice that , i have this behavior of naturally arguing the opposite view , even though i had the similar opinion earlier. This i understood, is a behavior few other people too .Has anyone noticed this and improved this behavior ? Mostly feel bad why did i have that argument !

I think of arguing as a writing exercise. Like trolling. And flaming. They make people better writers because they require thinking of the audience. And there is a ready audience for these things on most of the internet.

But not really on HN. Which is what makes HN HN. And that's perhaps why you recognize it. (0r not).
