Every software company has its challenges. I am already comfortable understanding objectives, meaning you can delegate to me expected results instead of the usual and time-consuming task lists. I will be responsible for gathering all the information I need in short and objective-driven meetings with you.
You will work with someone who thrives to understand, profile and solve real-life problems. Giving value through my solutions it’s a top priority for me. When I resolve one problem it’s a win for your business, but also a big victory for me.
If you work with me, you will have on your side a fast and determined learner, who loves to teach himself new technologies and programming languages, new business flows, and new business models. I can adapt to any business and its technology stack.

WHY HIRE YURI:
WHY NOT HIRE YURI:[+] [-] yschaeff|4 years ago|reply
ASK ME ABOUT:
BIO:Software Engineer, Maker, Tinkerer. Recently I've been researching, designing, and implementing a LiDAR based SLAM algorithm for building a 3D model of a scene with a mobile scanner. The implementation is capable of crunching through multiple tens of gigabyte data with a processing time measured in seconds. Additionally I was responsible for the physical and electrical construction, as well as the firmware of multiple iterations of the mobile scanner.
I've been working on a energy monitoring platform based on a ARM Cortex A7 with big.LITTLE architecture. The 2 main cores run Yocto Linux and the 3th runs FreeRTOS for real time sampling of a 1 Mega sample/second ADC via SPI. This involved writing Linux kernel code passing sample data to the main OS via RPMSG.
At NLnetLabs I worked at standardization of Internet Protocols. Focussing on DNSSEC. Development, maintenance and community support of OpenDNSSEC, Unbound, and NSD.
I love learning by doing and am at my best doing something at the edge of my skill set. I've mentored a lot of university students over the years as well as tutoring math and programming in my spare time. I'm looking for an environment with like minded colleagues to immerse myself in.

I've been happy at Google for the past 7 years, but after the year that was 2020 I've realized that I want to move back home (St. Louis, MO) to live near family, so my primary motivation for changing jobs is to make that a possibility. Most likely this will be via remote work, although a company with offices in the STL area would also be great.

I am passionate about solving complex problems, open source software, and developing software that will ameliorate the lives of its users.
I have particular interests in machine learning, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, procedural generation, and DeFi.

I'm looking for jobs closer to a data science / data engineering role and looking for an opportunity to relocate to Vancouver.
I have a Master's degree in computational biology, so would be interested in roles in the biotech / healthcare space. My most recent work has been in government, so would also be interested in continuing to work in the public sector, or for charitable organisations.[+] [-] cupcakes85|4 years ago|reply

Résumé/CV: https://read.cv/dipkumar/

Why hire Dip: - Worked as machine learning engineer + research engineer + backend engineer.
- single handedly deployed multiple ML system in production
- I believe creating baseline first and improving from it instead of going with biggest weapon.
- fast learner (worked on various project ranging from stitching photos to speech intent detection to solving NP-hard problems)
Why not to hire Dip:
- Need Research Scientist instead of MLE or Research Engineer
- Need senior (experienced) backend engineer

Hi,
My previous major gig was an Engineering Manager/Software Engineer hybrid (and occasional executive) at a 100% remote US startup for 5 years.
I also have a smattering of side projects.
I have wide ranging experience with software and technology.
I'm a self-motivated person and always learning new things.
I'm a creative thinker who is able to take a multi-disciplinary approach to solving problems.
I don't just do 'software', but also the business, legal, social and startup issues around software. (I'm well-read on startup literature.)
I'm a problem solver. Give me a problem and throw me in the deep end. You don't have to keep checking on me. I'll find a way out. I'll either solve the problem or provide you with the necessary information to make an informed decision.
I specialise in debugging hard problems which no one else wants to do.
I keep myself busy. You can see from my work history that, if not employed, I always have a side project happening. But don't let that deter you. I'm always willing to shuffle my priorities for the right opportunity.
Thank you for reading and hope to hear from you.
(No recruiters please.)

I created this project: https://tree-annotation.org/
It's an independent software-world-improvement experiment that I am willing to suspend my career for, for as long as I can afford. For now it's just a solo experiment that is the most interesting software-related thing I want to do right now and I put all my chips on it.
If I am right enough about the value of it maybe a community can develop around it and support continued development. There would also be tremendous business potential in optimizing existing infrastructure with this.
At this stage, I just wonder whether this is interesting enough for anybody to put their resources into supporting its development and seeing where it will go.
So if anybody is interested in that, and the potential to become a pioneering supporter of a promising future technology is not a reward in itself ;), in exchange I can help with my skills and some of my time applied to your business problems.
Constructive shattering of my vision or words of encouragement are also welcome (best by email).
