You should be aware if you are using Google Translate as a proxy.

For example currently if you translate Hacker News, you end up in this page: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=en&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.ycombinator.com%2F

But if you hover over the links there, you will see the domain becomes "news-ycombinator-com.translate.goog" and congrats, now your authoritarian government knows you have visited hacker news via a proxy.
