Ask HN: Why are no flights taking off from Munich?

The Munich airport is down, and every minute there is an announcement that the whole IT system is down.

EDIT: So the total downtime was ~1h, from 10:45 to 11:45. No idea what the cause was, but I heard the crew saying Amadeus was down.

Similar thing happened at a Heathrow terminal, the day after hundreds of British Airways workers were made redundant / outsourced. Possibly a coincidence!

Maybe someone decided to exploit one of the myriad of security vulerabilities they noticed there the last time they visited... a decade plus ago.

(It's gonna be a big suspect list. Good luck to... Scotland Yard or whatever.)
