Ask HN: Is Seattle's air quality worse than that in Ukraine's war zones?

Seattle's air quality was reported as being the worst in the world yesterday and today. Is that really possible?

Seems a bit disingenuous, though it may technically be true, to report that now with all the wildfires happening in the PNY. Yesterday the AQI in south Washington where I was hit 323, which was higher than Seattle. The rain can’t come soon enough..

As someone coming from a city who's had this problem for years, I can just say it can get better.

We've petitioned, protested, lobbied and in the end it happened.

The city is Zenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the end, as success can often be, it was so anti-climatic (no pun intended). One year it just got better, we felt it and went on with our lives.

Whom do you petition to stop forest fire smoke from traveling inside city limits?

I’d much rather be in Seattle than Ukraine.

Somebody I know took a walk outside last night in Seattle area and reported back to me that they felt something off in the air they breathed, said it kind of burned, but it might have been their imagination. The AQI was nearly 300 yesterday.
