Ask HN: Where can I find detailed startup case studies?

I'm trying gain a broader knowledge of typical phases, events, and moods that a startup goes through. Ideally I'd like to see how different companies reacted to or handled these phases and that their reaction factored into their success or failure.

Could anyone point me to a database of case studies like this? Or at least to specific case studies you think would be valuable?

Harvard Business Publishing has a large number of case studies [1] from various businesses. Access is not free, but they were quite useful when I was studying business in college.
