Contract, part-time employment or volunteer

Location: Africa

Remote: yes

Willing to relocate: yes, to any location in Africa, where i can get the necessary permission to live and work.

Technologies: Linux, Fullstack, System Administration.

Résumé/CV: on request (software development, CTO, mentoring, training, fluent in English and German)

Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so i am looking to relocate to Africa.

While i could find a job elsewhere i believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location i am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.

I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and i am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.

I am willing to consider a volunteer position if a visa can be arranged.

I'm a student, and am looking for a good internship experience in the first half of 2024. I am currently a Google Summer of Code contributor at the Tor Project, and have contributed to Arti, the Rust rewrite of Tor in C, working beside the Arti devs.

I'm particularly interested in open source, computer networking and associated software. A while back I hacked around and built a peer to peer file transfer program to learn Rust, including the file transfer protocol too (you can check it out on https://github.com/gotlougit/p2p-file-transfer or on https://git.sr.ht/~gotlou/p2p-file-transfer). I did this mostly being inspired by Tailscale and also out of frustration of how getting uncompressed photos from friends was a mess.

I love learning new things and am a fast learner. Recently I migrated to NixOS, and quickly ended up configuring a tmpfs rootfs so I could manage the state of my system better.

Remote: Yes, or locally hybrid/in office - I'm flexible

Willing to Relocate: No

Technologies: Go, C/C++, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL/MySQL, ML/LLM, and many others

Résumé/CV: https://linkedin.com/in/abnulladmin

I'm an engineer with many years of experience in Silicon Valley, working in management roles, engineering, and consulting. My expertise is mostly in back end systems, working in the modern Go/Docker/Kubernetes ecosystem. In addition to working directly on large and complex code projects I also managed and grew engineering teams at various companies.

If you need help with specific technical projects, or are looking for management roles please feel free to reach out. I'm very familiar with both the unique challenges of scaling up startups as well as working to innovate in large enterprise companies.

Specifically if you need help productizing and scaling out various AI/Machine Learning/LLM systems this would be a good fit. I know there is quite a bit of demand in this area and a limited supply of qualified candidates.

Hey, my name is Chris and I'd like to be hired as a fullstack dev ideally for Elixir + React but I don't mind LiveView of any js framework. I have 3 years of professional experience and I feel quite flexible with technologies. I've been working mostly with Elixir, React, Typescript, Postgres and Elasticsearch. I'd prefer full stack but I'm also open for open for just backend jobs. I've been working with real time projects, health-tech, business, or just on frontend side that required a lot of data to be displayed in a custom way.

I am a software developer currently working in the telco industry, but I am eager to explore new opportunities and expand my horizons. Although my primary interests are in network programming and game development, I am open to other challenges if they give me an opportunity to grow and develop myself as a programmer. My interests are diverse, as showcased by my portfolio of personal projects, which can be found at https://theshoemaker.de/projects, but I am mostly interested in systems programming roles.

Hi, I'm Nat. I've previously worked as a marketing and visual designer for Fast and several other startups in Silicon Valley. Recently, I decided to establish an affordable design subscription service for those who need professional design work but aren't yet ready to hire a full-time designer. With a monthly subscription, I commit to focusing on creating stunning designs that elevate your product. No fuss, just great design.

I am very flexible and open to learn any new technology even if it’s just for one small task. I can also read and understand other people’s code comfortably. I am looking for a long-term SWE/AWS SA role, other roles are also welcome (including iOS, Android and Web development roles). About me: I developed and released two mobile games a few years ago with one of them reaching #2 in the puzzle category on the app store. Although I have a Chemical Engineering degree from Japan (2020 graduate), I’ve been coding way before I went to university. I can speak/read/write both English and Japanese fluently. I worked odd jobs throughout the first year of the pandemic and I currently work for a Y Combinator-backed (YC20) tech startup, mostly front-end with a focus on JSONForms and automating the generation of Forms schemas using Python and Pandas. I'm confident I can overcome any task, hit me up!

I have > 2 years of experience working with deep learning/data science/data engineering and software development on high-impact projects. I enjoy solving mathematically or algorithmically challenging problems, as well as diving in some of the quirks of machine architecture, operating systems, or just about anything I haven't learned before. I'm interested looking for any full-time internship position for summer 2024 or part-time during the semester. Contact me if there is a position which I might be a good fit for and I would love to talk.
