Creating a YC index product to help founder recruit talent – good or bad idea?
1. Create a Fund 2. Invest into top 50% of YC companies, creating an index 3. Invest in new companies with stock ($50k of preferred exchanged for $50k of stock options in the index) 4. Stipulation that founders are to use these stock options to bring on top talent. 5. Example offer letter for a top talent: base salary, stock comp in the startup, $25k stock options in a YC index
