It seems that with online ordering, etc., phone ordering is a thing of the past. I'm curious to know who is still calling to order food and why you still do that. And a further question: do you think AI will make phone orders more popular?
When I'm lonely, I call and converse with the AI chatbot.
JUST KIDDING. I hate talking to anyone but a human. I press 0 five or ten times until a human answers.
When I was much younger, pizza places stopped taking phone orders after we ordered pizzas for unsuspecting teachers. Cash on delivery. Then some damn fool invented the credit card.
I do sometimes call by telephone to order food for take out, so that it will be ready by the time that whoever will pick it up (who knows I am calling to place the order), will do so. If I eat at the restaurant then I will just order when I get there.

A phone call as I jump into the car for my drive home is easy. Until it isn't, I will continue.
The best thing is expertise found on the other end of the line. That saves me a few times per year.
Online can be a lot of work.
Get an account
Locate items
Pick side options
Etc...
I have spent 10 minutes placing my own order knowing a few minute call will do.
Not a fan.
