Ask HN: Mobile game user acquisition?

I'm an indie game developer. Small team, just one developer(myself) and one artist. Yesterday we launched a real-time multiplayer game called Godspeed Commander. For us to survive we need to have a constant flow of games so that people aren't stuck waiting for someone to play with. Obvious I know, but apparently this is more difficult to achieve than I had planned.

So I am here looking for some advice.

What strategies have worked best/worst in your experience for user acquisition?
