You’d be amazed how many things you can do in even ONE minute.
It helped me when depressed to come out of immobility and stop postponing even the simplest tasks : take out the garbage literally doable in under 60 seconds including going up and down the stairs, reply to some small emails, do some simple housekeeping tasks.

gVim is so slow for me, can literally see the window text redraw from top to bottom, where sublime text or vscode switching tabs or scrolling is near instantaneous.

Also it outputs a "dependency" file during build which you can use to infer the correct js/css includes - and this lets you add Webpack like modern js and all plugins like markdown and icons, to a LEGACY app in php. I did it with a Symfony 1.4 app it’s awesome.

You’d think by now there would be video prrof all over youtube of these circles being made.
Have I jus5 not looked in the right places? Anyone have a link?
Surely with gopro night vision etc. someone can easily show us how they make these circles?
Ahhhh, or it is a secret? A trade secret … the artist doesn’t reveal their techniques? How convenient.
I’ll apply same reasoning to circles than ufos : prove me you make them.
The "burden of proof" is on both sides.

What’s funny to me is how we completely miss the point: how is this a prank? How are these circles "fake"?
The circles themselves are real, and amazing art and fascinating as an experiment , whatever it is. Yet somehow soon as someone supposedly "debunks" circles as being man made, somehow the circles stop being interesting?
If anything i think circles highlight that big flaw in human thinking. The6 highlight just how desperate we are for normality.

Except as a developer you need one app, then another, and another… soon enough you’ll be paying 10 x 50$/year.
And paying a sub for software is repugnant to me. I bought FontAwesome 5 while it was in KickStarter, it’s no longer updated (it’s now version 6), but at least I can still fully use the thousands of icons I paid for.
tldr: way too damn expensive.
NaN1352 | 3 years ago | on: I love the Linux desktop, but that doesn't mean I don't see its problems
I guess I am thankful that Linux desktops in general I both love and hate, are good enough to replace Windows if the needs come to that.
Even more so nowadays with Valve setting up Linux as a promising "pc gamer" platform with decent usability.
For good or worse the fragmentation is what Linux "fans" want. The kind of users who are never happy and want gazillions options to make something fit their every perceived special needs. The kind of users who think using a mouse is "less productive and efficient" than keyboard only… these are the most vocal users on Linux discussions it seems.
Oh well like I said I’m grateful Ubuntu is usable enough and looks half decent… actually moving back from a M1 MacMini soon… but mostly for convenience as I want to keep using my "gaming pc".. and I realized i dont actually do anything very macOS specific … plus homebrew and lack of native containers feels like a hack. I’llmiss the polish of macOS though.
While I’m at it let’s be blunt: is there really any half decent looking distro besides Ubuntu? Imho most other distros look like they were designed in 1987, and elementaryOS is such a joke. Personally I could’t see myself using anything else than Ubuntu + the fantastic "Dash to Panel" addon as a valid replacement for Win10 (the win + number shortcuts are amazing).

Much of that is addressed in McGilchrist’s The Divided Brain.
I don’t think Musk is a bad person, but he is displaying like many "high functioning" people in our current economic and political systems, signs of lack of empathy, hyper materialist views, etc.
Unsurprisingly left hemisphere dominant people (who are unbalanced), can do very well in systems that are designed by the left hemisphere and reward everything the left hemisphere is about (control, supposed knowledge of how reality works or is, power, inflated sense of self and ideas of being "self made" etc.)

On the other hand, the Win + (number) shortcuts I can’t live without and there are very few solutions on macOS which surprises me, because those min/max/switch shortcuts ate incredibly simple and intuitive.

Julie Yau has a "trauma workbook" with many exercises you can do on your own. She is also a very compassionate woman with deep knowledge about the nervous system, though her book is practical, not theory.
If you really want more theory about nervous system to "trust" the above advice, look into "Nurturing Resilience" by Kathy kain
All the best to you.

You just can’t listen to a music mix anymore on YT. They play "ads" except the ads are complete music videos that run for 2-5 mins easily. It’s so dumb. Whatever happened to "soandso new album out now!". You don’t get an excerpt, you get an entire track of some random band, often times quite different genre that the mix you wanted to listen to.
It’s so fucking bad, it’s literally like YT says "hey you want to listen to ABC, why dontcha listen to XYZ instead".
I wouldn’t mind a short ad for some random album or artist when I listen to music, but now YT as made it almost impossible to listen to a good mix, when you get some OTHER music that starts every 5-7 mins, and runs for 2-3mins average…
EDIT : forgot to mention on one music mix (just progressive house dj mix), I’d keep getting an "ad" which is some electricity mini doc in Turkish that runs for 25+ mins. WTF !?
Youtube is actually making people want to skip and block ads because their "ad" program is atrocious for users.
Thankfully they do have a Premium LITE now but it’s still a bit expensive imho it should be just 5 eur.
And wtf I had to Google to find it. Within the apss I was never told that it was available, and clicking through the premium engagement was always showing me the 16+ EUR sub with Google Music etc.
But anyway even saying all that I still want to save videos that are invaluable to me, and just disappear randomly or turn "private" after few months/years.
What is the point of making a playlist when they show you unavailable items as the months go by?
AND, also you have sometimes vdeos that get edited. Like there was a really nice cafe ambiance and because some losers complained about being in the video, the uploader replaced it with a audio-only version.
So tldr when you see a video you REALLY like, you should DL it asap. You never know when it gets deleted.
The worst part is their products are actually often bad, you use them a short time then throwaway.. so they are also contributing to global pollution.
What I find dumbfounding is how their gov thinks their economy is great or whatever in that line of thinking when they’re literally a parasite who is utterly dependent on the West and would be nowhere without us… but ok I get it the same could be said for us too.
I mean like they act as if they are not totally interdependent with the Western world. Good for them, that will eventually be their downfall. Evolution doesn’t care for inefficient/dysfunctional systems.
