Not sure what they're called but I see them dragging huntsman spiders around.
They don't look as bad as the tarantula hawks but they sound like a helicopter.

Maybe the attitude to run the battery low before charging it comes from NiCd batteries which have the so called memory effect [1].
Could education be the answer? I've never bought an iPhone, do they include a few paragraphs about proper battery care?

How about measuring the prison instead, reform more crooks, the guards get a pay bonus. However, knowing how incentive schemes are normally gamed, they will probably resort to lobotomising the inmates.

I feel like this in argument which has been had so many times on HN but

They offer a service with terms, you either accept those terms or you don't no one is forcing you to use their service.
On the matter of enforcement, I agree this would be near impossible to enforce in all but the most obvious of cases of discrimination.
