on: An Author Confronts Her Number One Online Critic
On the other end of the spectrum are people ( teenage girls mostly) who actually kill themselves from the relentless online harassment.
Different people will react differently, just like in an offline setting. There isn't really a solution that works for everybody.

on: The Dropbox terabyte conundrum
I never bought a pro account because, like the OP says, I consider Dropbox for smaller things. 100 GB was too much then, and now 1TB is ridiculous. I would have liked a smaller tier (20-25 GB at the most), but I guess they can't really make money if people actually use up their space. oh well..

on: Why Pascal is Not My Favorite Programming Language (1981)
I learned programming with Pascal in high school, and it definitely didn't stink. It's way easier than C and lets you focus on the actual programming, not the idiosyncrasies of the language. It's very much like Python in this regard, but I think it's even better as a first languge. It's more explicit and to someone completely new to programming, that really pays off IMO.

Decriminalization isn't legalization. We should be looking at countries where it's entirely legal, prostitutes have guaranteed work conditions etc.

This is what the US always did. If a government doesn't play ball with them they try everything to get rid of it. Look at what happened just a couple of months ago in Ukraine: democratically elected president was ousted just because he was becoming too friendly with Putin.

> NOT EVERYONE USES COMPOSER!!!
Well, get with the times ffs.
Amuzingly, I recently integrated ES with a Yii app and it ran wonderfully. Sped up our search considerably.
