They take 5% + $0.50 for each transaction. Seems pretty high to me, guessing that is why they're effectively hiding this information. Interesting conversion technique.

alamaslah | 6 years ago | on: Ask HN: I've been slacking off at Google for 6 years. How can I stop this?
It's probably good advice. Although, I like to combine all three by doing painting and poetry. These activities might be better suited to some hackers.

The above is old propaganda. It was true. It is becoming less and less true.
The things you listed are all connected.

I think the attitude you are expecting people to have is insulting both ways. You are denying the Iranians and Chinese have any agency...Do you really think they or their Goverments spend all their time just reacting?
Ps. If you say to someone in the west "What do you think of those re-education camps?" they will reply "Sounds like a university". Sadly, they are not completely wrong.

Even the common takeover trope of relationship building between an insider and the acquirer happened here. All Vision Fund's dealings with WeWork seemed to go directly to Adam Neumann. And to be frank, he seemed to be out of control, he was going manic, and it seems as though this was encouraged by Vision Fund.
Neumann did very well out of the deal. What happened to the other co-founder?

I have never heard this from anyone else though.

And the Vision Fund has not only invested in high risk ventures.https://visionfund.com/portfolio
Vision Fund's "investment" in WeWork is effectively a hostile takeover of a distressed asset. It is one of the most conventional bets they have made.

Softbank. $91million for 20%
alamaslah | 6 years ago | on: Ask HN: Which startups are still “only hiring the best”?
As soon as a startup becomes successful they have hired an attractive anthopology gradute to be "head of people ops" etc. After this it is mostly luxury ideals and gimmicks.
At one time every startup claimed to only hire the best. Then they mostly failed. They are still out, being the best, that is currently avialable, in a commutable distance, at below market rate.

Although, they should be writing checks into the operations of WeWork.
Edit: Oh, Saudi Arabia and UAE sovereign wealth funds have checked out of the next fund.

Amusingly... it was likely their opposition. This is why you should hold yourself and those you align with to high standards. It only stengthens your position...even if you are completely wrong (although only a little bit)

For example: If i select work from home, it returns Intuit, if I click apply, it takes me to their ATS...This is good, but it seems they are not offering work from home, so this result is false.
The reason why Key Values is enjoying some success is due to marketing. Right niche, good promotion, good design, good sales. (but even then, not that many companies have signed up. why not? They are probably aware of it.)
This format might work if you go after a different segment of the software industry (maybe?). I am currently doing something similiar in a unrelated industry, it helps if you can talk the lingo, know some people etc.
P.s Unlesss the companies have already paid to be listed? Then, well done.
It is a interesting contribution and gives valuable insight into the article that has been posted.
