the value the js community gets from `fetch` being a unified standard is far, far greater than the benefit you as a developer would get from not having to add 15 extra LOC around `fetch`, that you'll probably hide behind a `fetchJSON` function anyway.

You're going awfully out of your way to not engage with the arguments you're presented with by other people, dismissing them with sardonic one-liners, and making wild assumptions about the motives and thought processes of the Apple employees. If you're not trolling, I suggest you take a couple steps back and reassess the situation, because you're not coming across as a reasonable person.

You're lying and gaslighting.

You expect a (good) product manager to be reasonably technically competent so that they can carry a conversation with business/customers without having to go back to engineering every time to ask "Is this possible?".

Similarly, you can expect a software engineer to be somewhat product competent so they can push back on bad ideas, proactively suggest better ways of doing things, and even connect the business dots and propose entire classes of new features that the PM maybe didn't even realise were possible / within reach.

It's not two roles in one, it's not working 16 hours / day, it's just having the right mix of experience and intuition such that you're still primarily an engineer but you help guide the product.

> stating, without any evidence, that somehow conservatives claiming victimization is par for the course is about as low value as a comment can get

> the left wing using their utter domination of prestige media outlets to marginalize right wing ideas and viewpoints in the popular discourse

If you can't see the irony here then I can't help you.

Also, the "marginalized right wing ideas" meme is getting old. The only people who are deplatformed are the ones that are inciting hate and spreading literally fake news. Are those the kind of right wing ideas that you're worried about being marginalized, or did you have some examples about the left wing media cabal censoring ideas about how much of a role government should play in society, and how much we should be taxed? Be more specific if you want to be taken seriously.
