One of the predicted winners of climate change is Russia. It's supposed to thaw fertile lands that are currently under permafrost and open up new shipping lanes. Obviously even Russia will experience some downsides but the positives could easily outweigh the bad.

basically node exposes all these other APIs like reading a file from disk. Browser also has APIs like detecting when the page is fully loaded that wouldn't be available on Node. What JavaScript syntax is supported can also vary between Node and browsers.

Two things - 1) I interviewed at places like this after college. The hustle at least to me was very apparent. It boggles my mind that ppl want to work at these kinds of places. Maybe you become a senior banker and make fat stacks but let's be real most don't. I can't help but feeling these are young naïve workers taking these positions.

Second this scam jobs tend to thrive to down markets. I could see there rise as things go south as we come out of the recession and the number of white collar non-tech jobs continues to disappear over time.

It's odd to me that people think Bitcoin can be free of "force" long term. Bad guys can point a gun at your head and demand you login into Coinbase to transfer coins to them. What happens if the government makes Microsoft give them admin accounts to the Bitcoin repo? What happens if there is a fork and China doesn't like it and prohibits miners from adopting it? BTC is way more susceptible to traditional military and government might then people make it out to be.

All depends. We increased the supply of money creating downward pressure on the purchasing power of the dollar e.g. inflation but those effects are being countered by decreased consumer demand keeping prices low and less job opportunities again leading to decreased demand for consumer goods. Most likely want to see heavy inflation till we get back to a more "normal" way of life. Keep in mind some inflation is healthy, roughly 3%.

Our education in the US is in the same position. We spend far more time, energy and money on problematic students who don't give a rip than we do on dedicated/motivated students.

The goal posts aren't there. If a certain number of students fail it creates red flags for the district and if those students are a certain minority that can viewed as evidence of institutional racism and open up legal liabilities as such the districts are highly motivated to pass everyone along but to not to make the good and willing better.
