I find this really interesting. I prefer Uber at-least in LA. I have used both Uber and Lyft pretty consistently in the last year. My problem with lyft has been my extreme experiences that come at the expense of "being a friend". I have had rides from LAX with drivers asking me very private information like my religious beliefs. There was another guy who was talking about his relationships and hinting at his sex life. It was bizarre and funny in the way he said that he does not like to talk but lyft emphasizes on this social experience (and in my head I was like, dude please shut up.. i wont mind) I am sure these incidents can happen with Uber but so far I have never been creeped out even if I thought the drivers were rude or even reckless etc.

With lyft, I tend to sit on the passengers side; which kind of increases my sense of dread when I get weird drivers.

I hear this quite frequently on how awesome it is that Lyft emphasizes this social experience. But in my personal experience it has a (slight?) downside.

I use quora as a reader and it's really fun. I am very particular about my feed and make sure I follow folks who don't clutter them with topics I find irrelevant.

I highly recommend following folks whose interests align with yours. Also following topics those interests correspond to. Like for eg: I really love learning more about space/planetary science and following Robert Frost (from NASA) has given me wealth of information. Good answers are visual and easy to understand. That's the value of Quora for me. There are people with credible backgrounds answering problems in their domain. (There is also a debate on generalists vs experts answering.. oh well anyway)

For me: I use stack overflow/exchange for getting precise technical answers to my day to day problems. I use Quora for exploring in my free time. But my feed is very tailored to topics I like. Otherwise it gets cluttered with generic psychology, lifestyle based questions.

Thats a wonderful idea. Two great points that resonated with me: 1. Having a commitment that forces you out of bed. 2. Involving yourself in something that's not your regular normal "world" can be so refreshing.

I would like to try this at some point. But I don't how I would start finding a job like that without contacts. Any insight on that from the OP would be great.

These are some great tips. By keeping the highest number in corner and making sure I am not forced to move it, I have been able to get till (~20000 score) 1024, 512, 256 etc and then game over :( Going to try again.

LOVE the game. Who knew I could single-mindedly focus on one task for hours and not get distracted.
