Seems like you'd have to blaze a trail if it did - "The pyautogui module can send virtual keypresses and mouse clicks to Windows, OS X, and Linux. Depending on which operating system you’re using, you may have to install some other modules (called dependencies) before you can install PyAutoGUI."

I recommend an aftermarket trailer hitch as well for the minivan. Our last vacation we fit 2, adults, 2 kids, our dog in his full sized crate, all of our luggage, and 4 bicycles on a hitch rack. Pretty sweet!

chett | 15 years ago | on: The worst CS101 course ever?

This title is misleading. From the site CS 101 is described as a "4-credit general education course". They steer students from all majors into this class to learn how to make flyers, use access, enter excel formulas, etc. I actually took it and found it to be pretty useful. By the way it's not required for CS or CPE degrees. The intro for CS students is the java based CS 110. See http://www.lcsee.cemr.wvu.edu/ugrad/curriculum/curriculum-de.... For those interested in some more exciting stuff see http://ai-at-wvu.blogspot.com/. (Disclosure BS Comp Sci @ WVU)

chett | 16 years ago | on: Ask HN: Any health tips?

Over the last 6 months I've lost a little over 20 lbs by eating healthier and exercising.

I tracked what I ate with an iPhone app and joined the gym. Tracking food intake was tedious but helped me unlearn bad eating habits. I've gone from panting after 5 minutes on the treadmill to running 4 miles in about 35 minutes. I feel like I've found a sustainable, enjoyable pastime that will keep me in good health for years to come. Support from my wife was crucial too.

HN looks better on Opera Mini compared to Safari. On first load I no longer needed to fiddle with the zoom level. It also wraps comments to fit the width of the screen when zooming in.

"Second, sell a killer screencast or e-book"

Thanks for providing a spark of inpiration here! When I was in college I earned extra money teaching private guitar lessons. When I finally moved on a student of mine was kind enough to photo copy and hand me to a transcription of every_single_lesson I'd given them over three years. This stack of paper has been sitting on my shelf for nostalgic purposes only ... until now.

chett | 16 years ago | on: Ask HN: Please name two of your most favorite books.

Cursed is the Peacemaker - Boykin. Excellent biography/narrative of an American diplomat working in the Middle East.

Sirens of Titan - Vonnegut. Not my favorite of his but my first. I've been hooked since then!

chett | 17 years ago | on: Auto-Tune: Why Pop Music Sounds Perfect

This reminds me of the time I attended a clinic taught by Marty Friedman (ex Megadeth guitarist). The audience had a few "purists" who seemed miffed that he'd strayed from his roots to perform pop-music in Japan. After being asked about the merits of his new endeavors he simply responded (paraphrasing) "Who wants filet mignon at every meal? Sometimes I just want a cheeseburger from a fast food joint".

chett | 17 years ago | on: Ask HN: What will you learn this year?

Good advice. When buying a tuner look for a "chromatic" meaning it can tune ALL frequencies (within a certain range) no more than $40. This will give you more flexibility down the road. String names from high (the skinny one) to low are E B G D A E. And your first string change will probably be awful. Leave extra room and try to keep the winds even. Good Luck!

chett | 17 years ago | on: Building a Better Resume for Developers

I think the problem is better addressed on each side of the equation. The applicant should strive to write a non-superfluous resume and the reader should improve their skimming skills. I don't see how adding another step to the process would save time.
