I believe the US stock market has become too big to fail. Which is one of the reasons why the central bank has stepped in, to stabilize and essentially prop it up. Too many American investors have their life savings in it, and if the bottom falls out, the pitchforks will be coming for those (who think they are) in power.

This goes back to the "olden days", we'd call them optics because there's a lens, an aperture, focus, waveguides, etc. Newer antennas actually DO have fiber optics (RF over fiber) conversion so you don't have to deal with waveguides and/or coaxial cables, just convert right to fiber at the feed.

Why not use lithium AA? Duracell aklaleaks are the worse, in my experience. At least if the alkalines do leak, they're in a carrier away from the MB.

Yes. In the US, all of the FAA charts and descriptions expire after a few weeks and it is not legal to fly with them, in order to keep everyone current. I'm guessing other governments have similar rules.
