I would bet if the democrats did this, the collective right's head would explode. I love how selective Trump is with following the constitution and its amendments, his supporters as well. They will die on their sword for 2A, but 1A when it suits their agenda and all others are just loosely worded suggestions

While I have some empathy, and I am not certain what was involved in your technical interview but the level of difficulty in some cases is just plain nuts. My first tech interview in January was mind boggling, timed questions of 90 seconds. The position was for Django, and not a single question was Django. All pure Python. The main question was so abstract to this day I have no idea wtf they wanted, 12 minutes to solve. Twitter and other places are filled with cases like this. So in an environment like this expect pinch hitters.

On a more positive note my last interview was very fair and on topic.

A few weeks back I was sent a home assignment by a company and it was a full blown production level program. If someone asked me to do it, I would charge them a minimum of $10,000. And it required I pay for an API, complete testing, caching, Dockerized, and a laundry list of other requirements. And it certainly would take a lot longer than a few hours.

The most reasonable company I have dealt with was Trip Ninja, an Amazon gift card for my time. Regrettably I tripped up, and messed up the test, timed tests are my Achilles heel.

After reading this I uninstalled teams on my Mac and a bunch of annoyances have ended. The main one, the text on tabs in sublime text are no longer distorted. This alone was driving me crazy for months

Last year my bank, Scotiabank, increased its profits be from $6 billion the previous year, to $9 billion. And while they can be helpful, try calling them on the phone. A painful process to deter you from calling them. I had to call them yesterday. When I finally got to talk to a human, she took my number for a call back, I am still waiting . I have no idea how the elderly deal with this blatant corporate greed.

diek00 | 4 years ago | on: How to quit like a boss

This title needs an edit, like many of those noted, "How to Quit Like a Boss when you work for Rational People". Many places have toxic irrational people who would fire you in an instant and then have security escort you out of the office like a criminal.

diek00 | 5 years ago | on: We stopped posting videos (hijacked YouTube account)

You seemed to miss the entire point, their legitimate problems: how the pay system is set up; the fact that YouTube referred to the hacker as the "other Admin", and suggested they deal directly with the thief to resolve the problem; and how they initially just dismissed the problem. If you watched that video and thought it was all their fault, I suggest you watch the entire video.

Ummm how about this concept, from recent headlines China is refusing to accept it because it the recyclables are filthy. That tells me many people are not actually recycling they are just separating items. When you go return beer bottles to a deposit location, most refuse to take them if they are filthy... it is common sense!

I see they have also retained the massive POS trackpad, for those who have not experienced it, agony is a good word. Imagine typing away and next thing Siri pops up for absolutely no reason or the cursor changes position and you are typing in a new location. Jumping randomly regardless of what I have done. I am lucky I did not taken a hammer and smashed it to pieces.

I agree, excellent explanation of all things web. One recent example that stands out, their Django tutorial puts the official Django tutorial to shame imo
