I see both sides to the argument. Craigslist is acting in their own self interest as PadMapper was by using CL's data to add value to their service.

While unfortunate, the move by Craiglist isn't surprising. They have done this repeatedly. The situation PadMapper is in is inevitable for any entity that isn't self-sustaining..

PadMapper should be working as quickly as possible to capitalize on the added attention this has caused and start letting users input their listings directly..

Really cool. To me though they should be apps and 2 separate ones at that, even if the functionality can be used in both ways. If you were to just market one app as a 'dream catcher' that is synced to an alarm that allows people to record their dreams, I think that would clarify your value proposition. Separate from that is the app that wakes you up with a previous recording you set.

They offer different things even if they both occur when someone is waking up..

Either way, well done!

Or disruption. Which 5 industries is Vooza going to disrupt?

Cool site. Can I suggest adding Twitter/Facebook links to make sharing easier?

From a UI perspective - I'd reverse the slider so that it goes from highest rating to lowest and most recent to oldest. Most people will likely want the highest, most recent films.

I respect the balls it takes to do something like this. Like someone else said, with design, everyone feels entitled to critique it. Yet, there are people on here who are defending the current design of iamexec.com.

The proof to me that your design is better was my initial reaction to it. Speaking for myself, I would never hire someone from a website that doesn't look professional. Your design instantly felt like an upgrade, even if there are things that could be improved. Most people aren't taking into consideration how difficult it is to design something without any input.

The changes I'd suggest are..

1. Focus on one call to action. You have 2 currently. 2. After the 1,2,3 limit the amount of yellow on the page. It's overpowering. 3. Remove the tagline just below the picture. You don't need it and everything else can move up 4. Social proof is great but there's a lot going on at the bottom of the page. Keep the user focused on the goal of getting them into the site. 5. Use lorem ipsum for dummy text

Anyway, keep hustlin'! I'm looking forward to next week's design..

I would guess that the most common use case is getting from the current location to a new destination (?). What if those 2 were more prominent? Saved locations could be an additional option but to make this more efficient, I would bring those 2 options to the forefront.

Needless to say, but well done!

Interesting idea. I respect that you are trying to match the client and the developers well, but the process you outlined seems to involve a lot of steps. Is there a way to simplify or automate portions of it? It also might be a challenge to be profitable charging 10% with the amount of back-and-forth you've proposed..

Your analogy doesn't work. The author's gripe (which is mine) is that he doesn't want to pay for cable because it includes paying for a bunch of shit he doesn't want. He's willing to buy the Ferrari from Ferrari, but not if it also includes paying more for a Vespa, a Dodge Neon and an Escalade..

As consumers, if we want to purchase something you'd hope the manufacturer would do everything in their power to sell it to us. That's not the case currently and that's his point..
