similar to netflixparty.com except:
- it also supports prime/youtube/vimeo
- it has an audio/video chat instead of a simple text chat
- it doesn't require a chrome extension
- it doesn't actually sync across the viewers? (start time, play/pause)
does it mean you can literally support other platforms without any integration?

I don't want to get into some funky forward contract and would prefer to do it with the consent of my board. But if the problem persist I will likely be interested in the future.

I mainly found buyers from inbound emails and via SharesPost, EquityZen and Equidate (Forge).
I am not on the board.
The way I approached this, was to be upfront with the potential buyers and letting them know that the board is not allowing any transaction as far as I know.
Then we would draft a contract with their broker team and I would be sending it to my previous company's general counsel or CEO.
Each time it was received and responded to with "We do not authorize any transactions for now. Thanks, bye" which was very frustrating.
No recent outside investment AFAIK.

Left the company 8 months ago but if I could sell everything right now (which I would) I could be getting 3-4M pre-tax money.
However my board is rather inflexible and won't allow any secondary sale, even though I went ahead and found many buyers and even got into sale contracts...
So I am pretty much sitting on paper money until the market crash and I get screwed along with the other employees while the founders were able to sell anytime :)

Well I didn't manage to solve the chicken & egg issue where there was no value for someone to put up their offer if there was no community adding feedback.
I reached 500 users by posting on Blind app but not enough stickiness. I am open sourcing it next and hope to give it a new life!

Congrats on making it to YC 19!
Love the idea, in fact I started something similar[1] in March 2018 when I was switching job. I also heard too many stories of friends accepting early stage companies offers with little to no equity and I was hurting for them.
I hope we (employees) will finally get our leverage back and fight for better equity but ALSO better liquidity!
If founders get liquidity, employees should too, it's only fair.

Right now we don't verify beyond verifying your email address that it comes from a corporate domain.
In the future I plan on adding features such as referrals which will need a stronger verification process.
