I have a Titan set up with all my accounts for when My Key2 finally goes. It's beefier, but more modern.

I'm really hoping Onward doesn't botch the release of their new BlackBerry PKB. Because if that's half good, that Titan will just sit in the drawer :P

This. And don't underestimate how much a Keymap can be changed to fit your specific workflow. My Keymap (the default) [0] for GergoPlex is very Vim/i3/Linux orientated, but that's just because it's what I use. If you're not programming your keyboard, _why?!_

I get a ton of emails from people that wreck their hands from bad ergonomics/keyboards and are trying to find a solution. It's bloddy disgusting that we still use something like a 104/QWERTY on such a crucial input device.

I use a Elecom Huge with drag-scrolling enabled (check xinput if you're curious!). For any kind of scrolling I just hold a sidebutton down and roll the ball, it's very handy and feels better then using a wheel, even if imprecise.

For exact scrolling I'll use the scroll wheel or dive for the scrollbar.

What I really want is a toggle bound to a button for enabling/disabling drag scrolling. Most of my flow is keyboard based so being able to toggle that on/off for a dedicated stroller would be great.

Now there's a name I haven't heard in a few years, used to listen all the time and even submitted a few episodes when I was young. It shaped the hell out of me that's for sure.

I think the beauty of HPR is the low barrier of entry to producing a interesting episode. Grab a Mic, and get a ramble :)

>iPhones have strict shutdown temperatures for both cold and heat. (which make them useless in many outdoor work environments)

Absolutely, I'm in the middle of Saskatchewan where it can get down to -40 and this was my biggest gripe with some of my old iPhones. Weirdly enough my BlackBerries (including my Key2!) managed a bit better. Only major issue I noticed was that capacity would rise when coming into a warmer environ. The Titan seems to be faring pretty well so far this winter, but it also is more battery then phone.

Was always funny walking in and having my phone restart, just to shutdown though.

I was using it at my job when it went down. Music stopped, things weren't responding, reloaded the page and knew it wasn't coming back.

I was using it way back when you could use their Java Applet to upload your music. Had my entire library on it!

With light switches and a compact layout it's not too bad for navigation. My default for arrows is LeftThumb+HJKL, so it's quicker and more natural then diving for the arrow keys. I also have overloaded alphas (Ctrl on a or ;, Shift on Z/?, etc) so Ctrl-Shift-Up maps to A+Z+LeftThumb+K. Seems a little bonkers but it only took a few days to adjust to my GergoPlex [0][1]

The bigger issue with adding more keys to the mix is that with heavier switches (35g+) the amount of work/stress done by the hand can be more then a traditional keyboard. But even with heavier switches it's often faster then having to move your hands around the physical board. And once you factor in things like combos you can just map End to something like QW or whatever works for you. Programmable input devices are _really_ weird!

That's exactly why I made Ginny (the small red keyboard in OP)! It's an exercise in insanity, but it does work as a fully functional keyboard powered by ASETNOIP. I could never daily it (too attached to my 36key GergoPlex) but some users are above 130WPM on 10keys!

SuperPaintMan | 5 years ago | on: Hidden standards make USB-C a pain to deal with

A better solution is to just have a different physical connector so it's obvious at a glance if you have the correct cables. But that: involves carrying another cable, and kind of defeats the purpose of a unifying connector.
