Quick feedback - it was quite hard to spot a price without registering. I usually go to "sign up" page to see all of the packages, yet in this case the only place to find a price is to scroll down the front page and find it buried there after a few screens of text.

Not sure if it is a bug or feature, but searching my domain with and without "www" produced different results. I expected actual website to be the first in both cases.

Fair point, although it is less applicable for Google Apps account, since it is not on @gmail.com and likelihood of sending password request to a stranger is much smaller.

I find it much more clean and convenient to simply create a default website with blank webpage (or return error if preferred) that will respond to all non-matched queries.

Simple or not, but I remember statistics that some 65% of first-time users do not get Twitter and leave. So it seems like it is not only about having less features.

Yeah, only 30 mins. And just pray that you wouldn't need backup, that you did not set up. Or that nobody breaks in through hole that you did not patch in php, web server and whatever else you had to install.

Self-hosted solutions requires maintenance even if you don't anticipate it. It's not "just PHP". It feels like a zero cost (you have got the spare capacity server after all), but only until you hit a problem.
