on: I cut GTA Online loading times (2021)
the load times were soooooo bad. Insultingly bad. It doesnt seem like you understand the true extent to how horrible rockstar managed this issue. I definitely quit playing for exactly this reason, even at the expense of spending less time with a good friend who i played with. Rockstar is a garbage disrespectful company for allowing this to go on for so long.

on: Ask HN: Is it just me or do 99% of SWE jobs offers seem completely pointless?
I got lucky and stumbled upon a company that sells an inovative and effective service that has potential to improve humanity. The fact that the companies success is aligned with human success is a huge motivator to get up and work 8 hours each day. However even with the money being decent, and the HR policies and benefits being amazing, i still struggle with the 40 hour grind. I can't imagine finding a better company to work for; I can only concluded that a fulltime job work will never "feel right". I think 20 or 30 hours would be much more ideal, as it would afford me more time to focus on life/family/nature/body/community/learning/creativity

on: Canada: Hundreds of unmarked graves found at residential school
for some perspective, i went to school in ontario from 1986-2004 and never heard a single word about residential school.
I think its safe to say that canada is only starting out on this journey of reconciliation. Its going to take decades of work and focus to right these wrongs.

I also have found the same success. The more i lean into supporting insect diversity the more prolific my garden becomes. Do you have any tips for supporting wasps? I make sure to have water available for them at all times.

Call quality is easy to solve with decent hardware, a quiet office and proper muting (I see this work all the time with 10 to 100 person meetings.)
